There's a poem by Lermontov keeps going around my head about a prisoner who
finally achieves some happiness when he succeeds in releasing a bird from its
cage. Why do you think this is preoccupying you? I think it means that when I become a doctor
what I want more than anything is to give people back their freedom the way
